Core Technology

Optical Block Assemblies

Optical materials having precise level surface parallelism and angle accuracy can be controlled within a tolerance of ultimate levels. Also strong surface adhesion provided by optical contact technologies, without using any adhesive for surface bonding.

High Precision Machining Block

Parallel and angular performance for optical materials (LTEM) with very low thermal expansion coefficients is implemented on a seconds scale, and also a technology that controls machining tolerances for optical materials. Geometrically precisely implemented LTEM materials can be combined with components to achieve an optically aligned state or to combine multiple components to create an integrated module. The stable temperature characteristics of the LTEM material and its high durability against the environment can be applied to high-precision optical measurement modules or laser modules.

  • Parallelism, Perpendicularity, Angle accuracy : 2 arcseconds
  • Size Tolerance : 2um
  • High uniformity and run-to-run repeatability
  • Outstanding environmental stability
  • Materials : Fused Silica, Zerodur, ULE

Optical Contact Bonding

Optical bonding induces intermolecular bonds(Van-der-waals) on the mating surfaces to maintain a very solid bond. There are no adhesives, welding or mechanical methods for bonding, so it does not cause distortion, displacement, and stress by bonding. It also has a very high bond strength without an optical boundary and it maintains adhesion over a long period of time and has excellent environmental characteristics. In particular, when each unit component is made of very precise dimensions, dimensional accuracy of final optical bonding product can also be maintained with great precision. Therefore, it is very useful for integrated bonding applications for precision machined optical components. If bonding forces or environmental characteristics beyond optical bonding are required, a Deep Optical Contact (DOC) process is also provided through a high-temperature, high-vacuum process based on optical bonding technology. Optical bonding or optical coupling technologies ideally combine multiple unit components to enable integrated monoblocking.
